DEMONSTRATION STUDY / Kalem Operations
From inquiry to an approved version.
Kalem Operations — how one business rule shapes a screen, a warning and the next step.
Vorion concept — fictional company and data. Not a client project.
01 / An invented business brief
An invented business brief
A custom workshop tracks inquiries, measuring, quotes and production. It needs to see whose turn it is and what the client actually approved. This is a demonstration brief, not a real client request.
A flow you can walk through
- 01
Open K-104, assign quote preparation and move the job to Quote.
- 02
Approve v1 in the client view, then confirm Approved in the team view.
- 03
Change the first line quantity from 5 to 6. This opens v2 and returns the job to Quote.
- 04
The client sees what no longer applies and approves v2. The team can continue only with a current approval.
02 / THE KEY RULE
Approval belongs to a version. Not the whole job.
The old approval stays in history, but no longer permits production. The new version, new total and new approval must match.
03 / Why the interface works this way
Why the interface works this way
- Next step before the detail
- Status, amount and next action are together. The team does not need to search for the blocker.
- A warning at the decision point
- The message beside the action names the version awaiting approval and explains why the old one no longer applies.
- Only the relevant detail for the client
- The client view shows the quote and next step; internal notes and assignments stay in the team view. This is not access control.
04 / ACTUAL DEMO STATES
01 / The client approves v1

02 / The team edits a line — v2 awaits approval

03 / The client sees the new version

04 / Fresh approval of v2

What actually works
- Job search and filters; summary amounts calculated from the displayed data.
- Quote lines, VAT calculation and version-specific approval.
- Task assignment, stage rules and change history.
- Team and client views of the same data; internal comments hidden from the client view.
- Prepared K-107/K-108 scenarios from the Kalem website and SR/EN views.
What is simulated
- No real client or proven business results.
- No Operations database or permanent storage; refreshing resets the example.
- The client view is not a login or a security boundary.
- No email, real inquiry submission or persistent website integration.
- The quote is an on-screen view, not a PDF; amounts are invented.
